How the scene took shape
Sweden already consumed large amounts of filter coffee when a new generation began asking more about origin and roast. Johan & Nyström, established in 2004, was an early force in that transition. Drop Coffee followed in 2009 and became another international standard-bearer for light roasting and producer relationships. The change was collective, but those businesses provide clear milestones.
The coffee scene today
